WILLOUGHBY, OH (WOIO) - A man fleeing from police crashed through a fence and drove into a tree before flipping his vehicle early Friday morning.
Friday, around 1:30 a.m., a Willoughby Police patrol car spotted a vehicle speeding at Mentor Avenue approaching Erie Road.
The officer attempted to pull the car over but the driver took off.
The vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Kovach, turned onto Vine Street striking multiple objects on the side of the street before crashing into a fence, a tree and then flipped over.
Kovach, from Mentor on The Lake, has been charged with fleeing and eluding, OVI and reckless operation.
There was a passenger in the car as well.
The passenger and Kovach were transported to Hillcrest Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
