Need 4 Speed: Akron Puts the Pedal To the Metal On I-77

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - Good news for Akron lead foot drivers.
Part of I-77 will be flowing at a faster clip.
This, after Akron City Council gave the green light to a plan to increase the speed limit on I-77 between Vernon Odom Boulevard and ClevelandMassillion Road from 55mph to 65mph.
ODOT, Highway Patrol and the City of Fairlawn already approve the increase so once the new speed limit signs are put in place, the new limit is in effect.
