UPDATE: CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - New details in the case of the Cleveland Strangler.
Accused serial killer Anthony Sowell's attorneys want his insanity plea to be put on hold until they can re-examine him.
The newly named judge in the case - Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold - approved the request. She also made it clear that she has not talked to any media outlets.
Judge Timothy McGinty stepped down earlier this month citing a potential conflict.
Sowell is facing an unprecedented 85 charges after the bodies of eleven women were found in and around his Imperial Avenue home last month. The 50-year-old convicted sex offender faces the death penalty if convicted.
Sowell is due back in court on January 27th.
