Cleveland, OH - A 26-year-old Cleveland Clinic worker survived an execution-style shooting at East 12th and Chester in February continues to make a miraculous recovery.
Jory Aebly and his friend - 28-year-old Jeremy Pechanec - shot in Perk Park after enjoying a night on the town with friends.
Pechanec did not survive.
Aebly still has bullet fragments lodged in his brain but is undergoing brain rehab and even using a walker. [Read more on Jory's recovery story HERE]
Late Tuesday morning, Aebly spoke for the very first time since the cold-blooded shooting. He was released from the hospital today.
He expressed his gratitude to his mother who never left his side and helped give him strength to survive his life-threatening injuries.
"I feel truly blessed by the progress I've made," said Aebly. "However, I'd like to say that I lost a very good friend who never had the chance to make a recovery so I ask that we keep Jeremy in our thoughts and we never forget him or the terrible crime that took his life and took him from us."
Three adult suspects, Perry King, Reginald Day and Cornelius King, are charged and face the death penalty if convicted.
Accused teenage triggerman Raffeal King will be tried as an adult but is not eligible for the death penalty.
All four suspects are related.
