Suspect who Officer Tom Patton was chasing is Charged

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Heights man who Officer Tom Patton was chasing when he collapsed has been charged.

Malcolm L. Bryant was charged with assault on a police officer, police say he spit on the officer that confronted him in Marc's...tampering with evidence, for taking off his jacket and changing pants during the chase...obstruction of justice, for running from law enforcement and two counts of breaking and entering for entering two buildings during the pursuit.

Patton collapsed and died Saturday morning while chasing Bryant out of the Marc's on Coventry Road.
