LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - A Lorain woman was busted driving with an alcohol level three times over the legal limit. What's worse - she had her two small sons and niece in the car at the time.

Lorain police pulled Mary Torres over early Wednesday morning after she blew through a stop sign at West 22nd Street and Beech Avenue. Seated in the car were Torres' 3 and 6-year-old sons and her 6-year-old niece. None of the children were in car safety seats or placed in seat belts.

According to the police report, Torres practically fell to the ground when officers asked her to step out of the vehicle. She admitted to downing four shots a half an hour before getting behind the wheel with the children in her care.

Lorain Police Sgt. Mark Carpentiere tells 19 Action News that Torres was "Highly intoxicated, she could barely talk. They tried to administer some field sobriety tests but she was so intoxicated she couldn't even perform them."

Torres was placed under arrest for OVI and child endangering.

She was also busted for OVI back in 2008.
