Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Browns have signed LB Kris Griffin to a one-year contract, the club announced today.
Griffin, 6-3 and 245 lbs., played in 12 games last season for the Browns and was a key member of the special teams unit. Griffin ranked fifth on the team with 14 special teams tackles, despite missing the final four games due to a knee injury. Griffin joined the Browns last May after being waived by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Griffin began his NFL career as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Indiana (Pa.). Griffin played two seasons (2005-06) for Kansas City and appeared in 24 games with six tackles and 24 special teams tackles. Griffin had his best season statistically in 2006 with Kansas City where he played in all 16 games with 22 special teams tackles.
