CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - I'm Judith Obermeyer and I am responding to Bill Applegate's recent editorial.
In my opinion, the government watches over our moves - almost to the point of the number of sheets of toilet paper used. Yet three uninvited people are allowed to enter the White House for a state dinner – and - a terrorist, padded with explosives is allowed to board an airplane bound for this country.
After 911, security was tightened… supposedly for our safety…but, it appears that security is not important to the Obama administration. Our troops are fighting, on this country's behalf… how can they have confidence in a leader who does not show the same values?
Computers link the world so a watch-list is available at the touch of a key. Yet that watch-list is ignored - rules are broken and safety is at risk. The man boarded that plane to kill and he tried to do it on U.S. territory.
Why should this terrorist be given the same trial rights as an American citizen? Why should we pay for this trial? Is the president protecting us or the terrorist?
