Olmsted Falls Reverend pleads guilty to child porn charges

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Reverend from Olmsted Falls pleads guilty to more than 80 counts of child porn related charges Wednesday afternoon.

Reverend Dr. Mark Griggs was rounded up in a massive child porn sting in December of 2010. Griggs, 48, was the pastor at Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church on West Road.

Between July 2008 and November 2010, Griggs traded child pornography over the Internet from his house and church. Using file-sharing networks, he downloaded and saved videos and photographs that depicted prepubescent children being raped, to multiple computers.

Griggs, along with 30 other defendants, were indicted during Operation Lake Effect, which was a 6 month investigation into child pornography, conducted by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Operation Lake Effect was the third largest investigation into traders of child pornography. In 2008 and 2009 Ohio ICAC conducted similar operations that netted a total of 91 individuals being charged.

Griggs will be sentenced by Judge Ronald Suster on March 26th at 11 a-m.
