Bridge repair project

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 till 5 a.m Monday, July 18, 2011 the East 9th Street Bridge will close to through traffic between Lakeside Avenue and the Shoreway (State Route 2) access ramp. The bridge repairs include expansion joint replacement and concrete waterproofing.

Signs will be posted for detour routes using Erieside Avenue, West 3rd Street, and Lakeside Avenue. Access to all parking garages along East 9th Street will be maintained. Additional traffic advisories will be issued if weather is unfavorable.

This is the first of 6 bridges across the City that are part of the Bridge Deck Sealing & Joint

Repair Project; with a scope of work that includes repairing or replacing of joints, sealing and

bridge deck patching, The other bridges are located at West 85th Street, West 44th Street, East

55th Street, Fulton Road and Quincy Avenue.

The East 9th Street Bridge phase is scheduled for completion by August 2011.
