CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Well, every time we air one of our editorials we ask you, the audience, to write and let us know what you think.  And you do.

I recently talked about the new teacher merit system proposed by Mayor Jackson.  And, boy did we get some responses.

Deb from Euclid wrote to say, "Why are teachers always blamed and not the parents? When we have parent conferences, only one or two parents show up."

And, David from Brookpark wrote, "When a child has no family support, there is no way to hold a teacher accountable for the achievement of the child."

And, Beth from Garfield Heights wrote, "Will the parents have their pay docked if their kids do not do well in school?  It's a two-way street." and, lee from Berea wrote and said, "I was contemplating becoming a teacher, I'm glad I didn't go that route. Teachers do not get the respect they deserve."

Well, thanks again for sharing all your opinions with us. And as always, write and let us know what you think.
