Murder charges filed against prime suspect in Craigslist murder plot

Posted: Updated:
SUMMIT COUNTY (WOIO) -

Murder charges were filed against the prime suspect in the Craigslist murder plot Friday.

Richard Beasley is now officially charged in connection with the killings. The announcement came during an 11AM press conference in Akron.

According to the Summit County Prosecutor, Beasley was the shooter in all the killings. He was on parole when he committed the murders.

Stow teen Brogan Rafferty is already facing murder charges and will be tried as an adult for his role.

Rafferty and Beasley are accused of luring men to a farm in Noble County through a Craigslist ad that promised work.

Two men were killed and buried in shallow graves. A third man was shot, but managed to escape. The body of a fourth victim, 47-year-old Timothy Kern, was found in a shallow grave in Akron behind Rolling Acres Mall.

Beasley was Rafferty's life mentor.

Ohio Attorney General says he doesn't know if there are more bodies out there and this is a serial killer case.
