Longtime spokesperson for Cleveland Clinic hit, killed by car in Parma Heights

PARMA HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

An elderly pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Parma Heights early Friday morning.

The accident happened on Pearl Road around 6:40AM.

A police officer on scene confirms a 77-year-old woman was killed. The 61-year-old driver did stop following the accident, and is cooperating with police.

"All indications are that she was crossing the street," said Parma Heights Police Chief Daniel Teel. "Although the details of the accident are being looked at."

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirms the victim is Marion Mosley of Parma Heights. She was a long-time spokesperson for the Cleveland Clinic.

The Cleveland Clinic released the following statement:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time friend and employee, Marion Mosley, who worked at the Cleveland Clinic for over 35 years in the media relations office. She had an incredible sense of humor, a vibrant personality and a passion for working with the local media. She has touched so many lives here and in the community. Our heartfelt sympathy is with her family and she will be missed.

Pearl Road between West 130th Street and York Road was closed for several hours, but reopened shortly after 9AM.
