MONROE COUNTY, MI (WTOL) - Plans have been made to work on problems with
gravel roads in Monroe County.
The Monroe County Road Commission
says there are plans in place to level the 25 closed gravel roads early Saturday
morning, allow the roads to dry out over the weekend and then reshape them on Monday.
The Road Commission admits
that problems with the roads have occurred because they have not kept up with
maintenance.
Crews add that the mud, divots
and ruts are because of the rain, warm weather and lack of frost on the ground.
The Roads Commission says
they plan to pay more attention on maintenance and will test different materials
such as stone, crushed concrete and asphalt on portions of the roads.
