29-year-old found hiding in hotel with missing pregnant teen

STREETSBORO, OH (WOIO) -

A 29-year-old tossed in jail after he was found holed up in a hotel with a missing pregnant teen.

On Monday, the Streetsboro Police Department arrested Clyde Tonkin for Obstructing Official Business at the Econolodge in Streetsboro after he was found to be with 14-year-old Brelyn Miller at the hotel.

Miller, who is 8-months pregnant, was reported missing by the Jenkins Township Police Department in Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 4th.

The Streetsboro Police Department located the two at the Econolodge after receiving a report from Robinson Memorial Hospital that the two had been there and they felt the circumstances were suspicious.

Both Tonkin and Miller lied to officers about their identity and their reasons for being in Ohio which led to the Obstructing charge.

Once it was determined the identity of the teen, the Jenkins Township Police were notified as was the girl's mother.  Officers did determine that Miller left Pennsylvania with Tonkin voluntarily and was not abducted.

Miller was eventually turned over to her mother and Tonkin was taken to the Portage County Jail. Tonkin may also face further charges in Pennsylvania.
