200 homes affected after construction company hits Medina County gas line

MEDINA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

An outside construction company installing a sewer system in Montville Township ruptured a gas line Tuesday. The company was removing septic systems in the Country Club Drive area and hit the gas line in the process.

Due to the break, River Styx Road is closed between East Smith Road and Ridgewood Road; this is where the repairs are taking place.

Residents returning home from work are not allowed inside their homes and those inside their homes are being forbidden to come out.

About 200 homes are affected.

Columbia Gas is working on problem.
