Akron man breaks convenient store window, steals beer and smokes

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

A 29-year-old man was arrested after he broke out a window of an Akron business and stole beer and cigarettes.

It happened around 11:30PM Tuesday night at the Convenient Food Mart on Massillon Road.

Police say Steven Shanley broke out the front window of the Convenient Food Mart and stole a case of beer and several packs of cigarettes. A responding officer observed Shanley climbing out of the broken window.

After a brief foot chase and struggle, Shanley was taken into custody and charged with Breaking and Entering and Resisting Arrest. Shanley was booked into the Summit County Jail.
