Little girl removed from home with working meth lab

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Officers arrested two men after discovering a working meth lab on West Cuyahoga Falls Avenue.

Late Saturday night, officers were alerted by the odor of chemicals while outside of the house on West Cuyahoga Falls Avenue and then observed a fan in the second story bedroom window being used for ventilation.

Officers performed a cursory search of the residence and found a working meth lab in the second story bedroom. Officers also located a 7-year-old girl sleeping in the house. The child was removed and placed in the custody of the Summit County Children Services.

Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered chemicals, syringes and other items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamines.

Officers arrested David R. Johnson, 29, of West Cuyahoga Falls Avenue and Ronald R. Noland, 29, Albrecht Avenue. They were charged with Illegal Manufacturing of Methamphetamines, Illegal Assembly of Chemicals, Endangering Children, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamines. They were booked into the Summit County Jail.
