County Corruption: Dimora's defense wants two-day break

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Jimmy Dimora's defense lawyers have filed a motion for a two day recess of trial.

Dimora's attorney's are asking to resume on Thursday, February 23rd. In the motion, Atty. Bill Whitaker stated the need for the delay is due to the prosecution resting twelve days earlier than scheduled.

The defense says the government's early wrap has caused scheduling conflicts with potential witnesses for the defense, and the short notice has "Hindered Mr. Dimora's ability to present a defense."

Judge Sara Lioi has not ruled on the motion.
