East Cleveland police seek suspects in teen mom's shooting death

EAST CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

East Cleveland Police have 3 suspects in custody, but are still looking for two more in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old girl.

Dena-Jua Delany was shot to death on Garfield Road and Euclid Avenue just before 4PM Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Dena-Jua was shot while walking in the area of Superior Elementary. According to witnesses, the teen was with a couple of friends when they got into an altercation with another group.

The victim's friends say during the commotion, Dena-Jua was shot in the face.

Dena-Jua was rushed to Metro where she died from her injuries.

"I just miss my friend so much. I can't believe it happened to her," said Charde Wade.

She leaves behind an infant son.

Detectives are asking that anyone with any information to please contact the East Cleveland Detective Bureau or call Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
