Cleveland born and bred, David returned to his hometown to anchor 19 Action News.
He's a 37-year broadcast veteran, but if you ask him, he'll tell you that he's always been in the "news" business. For years, he delivered the Cleveland Press on Essex, Lee and Westminster in Cleveland Heights. In fact, his old paper route was passed down from two older brothers.
David attended St. Ann's School and graduated from St. Ignatius. Then came his first "out-of-state" experience. He went to the University of Detroit, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in radio and TV.
He's worked in Detroit, Louisville, Boston and, most recently, in Orlando.
David has always been an Indians fan. While in Florida, he got the chance to throw out the first pitch at a spring training game in Winter Haven and play catch with Indians Hall of Fame legend Bob Feller. He also got a chance to operate the old-style scoreboard at Disney's Wide World of Sports when the Indians played the Braves.
David is an avid jogger and has run six marathons, finishing all but one. He's also an old car buff. It crushed him to give up his beloved 1978 Cordoba when he moved north again.
"I just didn't think it would make it through a Cleveland winter," David says.
He and his wife Carol live in Cleveland Heights (see, you can go home again!). They have four children -- two boys and two girls. Two miniature Dachshunds, Guinness and Elwood, complete the family.

- His dream car is a two-toned Desoto convertible (something with fins).
- Things he's looking forward to include: Cedar Point, French fries and sledding.
- Things he misses include: Euclid Beach, Higbee's and the Cordoba.
- Seeing the Indians in the World Series was his favorite moment.
- He proved that he could pack a mean double bag (paper, always paper) during a media grocery-bagging contest in Orlando. He credits all of those years working at Heinen's for his victory.
